My beautiful girl

This is my purebred Friesian mare "Bree" meeting my son "Liam". He loved her and she found him facinating!

News, some good some sad

Yet again I've added more artwork to Flickr. All sorts of different things, Gypsy Cobs, Dog-Fish (see above), an oriental style collage, some neat forest scenes and a rather odd looking person. Check it out here....
In other news, my husband and I woke up early Sunday morning to load my parents horses onto the transport company's trailer for their LONGGGGGGGGGGG journey all the way to the other side of the country! My parents just moved to Nova Scotia and I was responsible for making sure the horses (Ambra and Sierra) made it onto the trailer in a timely manner. They loaded so nicely, if only they knew what they were in for! I think the trip will take a week or so.
More horse news, I sold my own horse this weekend :(. I'm the mummy of a wonderful Friesian mare named Bree (or at least I was). I'm very sad to see her go but I know that this is for the best. I just don't have the time needed right now to train her seeing as I just had a baby. She's an absolutely wonderful horse and her new owner is VERY lucky! She will also be going on a long journey all the way to Chicago as soon as all the details are worked out.

New work!

The above painting was finished today. I decided to try doing something a little different with the background and I made her face a little less realistic than I usually do. I really like her and have named her "Celeste". She's done in the usual mediums, acrylics and colored pencil on watercolor paper.

As for the rest of my day, well I'm going to the dentist! How exciting! I had a wisdom tooth extraction done recently and they just want me back to see how I'm healing so hopefully it'll be a short visit. After that, who knows. I'm looking forward to starting my next painting although I have no clue what I want to paint. I'm thinking I should try another woman with brightly colored hair, possibly bright blue or Green! Anyway, tomorrow I should have more pictures of artwork to share. Off to the dentist I go......

Some Serious Cuteness!

Somewhat Amusing

Just when I thought I had found the house of my dreams, disappointment reared it's ugly head. Recently I came across a cute little white house for sale in Nova Scotia, it was SUPER cheap and I fell in love. I was certain it was the house for me, so much so that I was already deciding how I would fix it up to make it just perfect. Well, just last week I found out that it wasn't quite as perfect as I had thought. Turns out the town it's located in is home to a very large penitentary that happens to specialize in violent criminals. Isn't that lovely? Needless to say I am no longer in love with the cute little white house. I guess it's for the best, at least I found out about it before moving in and finding out my next door neighbor happens to be Charles Manson.

My First Blog Post!

Well today nothing much has happened yet. Liam had a short nap and now he's watching Disney's Fantasia on DVD while I type away and sip my horribly strong coffee. I did spend some time taking pictures of my paintings today and will hopefully if all goes well have them up on my blog for the world to see! I did a painting of a hummingbird on a cupcake yesterday, it's cute and it was nice to try something a little different. I can't for the life of me decide what to paint next though. Part of me wants to do a blonde woman like the one in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Elsa I think her name was. I watched the movie on the weekend and it inspired me. Hopefully that inspiration will last till I can get some time to actually sit down and paint. I just looked over at Liam and he's mesmerized by his movie, guess this is a good movie for babies to watch. Lot's of bright colors and fast movement to keep him interested. Well anyway should finish up here, lot's to do....
